Change For Charity

Community Chest has launched the Change for Charity initiative to encourage Singaporeans to give through spontaneous acts. In this initiative, Community Chest will partner businesses to weave a giving mechanism into their business models. By doing so, we provide opportunities for individuals to give through our partners’ payment platforms. The Change for Charity Grant will also encourage businesses to match donations from their customers, as part of their corporate giving.

By increasing opportunities for consumption-based giving at various touchpoints, we can build generosity where donating becomes a social norm, infused in all aspects of living.

100% of funds raised through this initiative will go towards supporting over 100 social service agencies and 200 critical programmes across five causes: children with special needs and youth-at-risk, adults with disabilities, persons with mental health conditions, and seniors and families in need of support.

 

We’re proud to support Community Chest in this initiative.

Sustainability Initiatives

Royal Plaza on Scotts’ is committed to making a difference to the environment, through the following initiatives in place:

In-rooms and Suites

– A notice is placed in the hotel rooms to encourage guests to reduce water usage by reusing towels and linens.

– Metal teaspoons are provided in our Premier Rooms and Suites, and sustainable wooden stirrers are provided in our Deluxe rooms.

– Toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, comb, razor and vanity kits all come in biodegradable packaging.

– Hand basins are equipped with water thimbles to aerate taps to reduce excessive water flow.

Around the hotel

– Hotel pens have been replaced with those that are biodegradable and made from recycled fibre.

– The hotel has made the switch from bottled water to water dispensers for meetings and functions.

– All water taps are equipped with motion sensors to limit water wastage.

– Automated controls moderate electricity consumption for cooling the building and for food storage, based on demand.

– Motion sensors installed at the stairwells reduce electricity consumption for lighting.

– Lighting at the car park and building facade is timer-controlled, cutting down electricity consumption.

Carousel

– Carousel, the hotel’s buffet restaurant, has also adopted biodegradable items for takeaways, such as paper cups and envelopes for candles and knives.

– Careful menu planning for daily food and beverage operations ensures minimal food wastage at our buffets and events, and our culinary practices maximise the use of ingredients to reduce wastage during the food preparation process.
